This sister to the M1 had her 12" gun removed and was converted to an "Aircraft carrying Submarine" during the 1920's,
whilst the M3 had her 12" gun removed and was converted to a "Minelayer".

Both the M1 and M2 were lost with no survivors whilst the M3 was scrapped around 1932.
